Client Spotlight - Unplug Meditation

by Stacy J. Grossman,

In my work as a lawyer, I have the great privilege of working with inspirational individuals and businesses. As we’re navigating work and life during this uncertain time, I thought it would be nice to profile some of my clients (with their permission, of course). I hope to promote my clients and introduce you to some interesting content, services and products that you might be able to enjoy now, from wherever you are.

It’s true every day, and even more so during this time of great stress: we can all benefit by taking a few moments each day to reflect and meditate. Studies have shown that regular meditation practice can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and keep depression and anxiety at bay. Meditation is something that takes relatively little time, and is very easy to do from home.

Unplug Meditation was founded by Suze Yalof Schwartz in 2014. Suze’s career started in the fashion world – she was an editor at several magazines and also a television personality. After moving across the country with her family, Suze learned about meditation, began to practice, and realized that there was a need to make it more accessible and approachable. She opened the first Unplug Meditation drop-in studio in Los Angeles, and since then, has opened other studios and launched the UNPLUG app. Her mission is to make meditation effortless to learn, and to inspire everyone to pause, find calm, and regroup each day. This mission resonates so much, especially now.

Though the studios are closed, Unplug Meditation classes are currently live streamed. You can access them by clicking here (note that the class times are Pacific). You can also download the Unplug App - it features world class teachers leading hundreds of guided meditations, a meditation timer, ambient sounds for self-guided sessions, a variety of challenges, and a gratitude journal. Suze is also the author of the book Unplug: A Simple Guide to Meditation for Busy Skeptics and Modern Soul Seekers.  You can purchase it here.

Many people are experiencing great challenges right now. For those of us lucky enough to be safe at home, we need to take care of ourselves, and Unplug Meditation can help.

Take good care, and #FlattenTheCurve
